Facebook spam links traced to Swami Nithyananda, the Godman gets even with humanity

Investigation by CIA has revealed that the facebook spamming spree was started by Swami Nithyananda, after his videos were uploaded in facebook and his devotees tagged him in it. He was apparently pissed off with humanity, and wanted to give it a taste of its own medicine. Refuting the claims Swami Nithyananda said, “I am neither impotent nor potent. How can you question that which is unpotentable?”

Facebook friends of stupid people all over the world were at the receiving end of the Godman’s rage. For instance Salman, an employee of GE, clicked on all the notifications, spamming his friends and desecrating their walls. One of his infuriated ex-fbfriend, Aslam, asked,” What is wrong with that asole? How can he click on that stupid thing so many times? This is how mankind screws itself, raping once is never enough.”

In his defense the asole said,” When I get a message I click on it. What else can I do? Ignore it? Besides I had to make sure I wasn’t compromised, in any of the links”. His friends however pointed out that he had a non-existent social life with office being the only other place he visited

Recent events have helped Nithyananda gain popularity, especially amongst hippies. One of his hippy followers said, ”He is like one of us man. He has long hair, doesn’t do any work, just sings, screws and sleeps.”

The law of unequals

It was the day before elections, the kind of time when people travel a lot, trying to get make it in time to cast their vote. One of my friends was going home,so was my maid;and that was where the similarity came to an end. While my friend was paying 5000 bucks on his airfare to be able to vote ,the maid was being paid 500 bucks to vote in favor of one of the candidates. They went there ways-one to make a difference and the other to negate it;difference was losing 1 to 10.Welcome to India,Welcome to Democracy and Welcome to Equality!
At my graduation I was told a story of an eagle which was raised amongst hens.Without any knowledge of it's true identity it blended with them, lived as one among them. When it realized it's potential it flew away.I look around and see eagles stifled amongst hens.Nobody cares about eagles, democracy is about the most not the best. It's not about Amartya Sen,Vinod Chosla or Rajat Gupta it is about a poor, illiterate voter who is doing more harm to himself than anybody else.

The Impasse

Hey! Welcome to my blog.
Now that the introduction is done lets get down to a topic that has haunted me since childhood.Does god exist?
People in school will remember as an atheist, practicing a rather militant form of it, and people in college would consider me a staunch theist! And now, though not too many people know it, I am back to being an atheist, but unlike my childhood self,I hope that god exists. So I guess I will have quite a bit to talk about god's existence.
At the very onset I find the battle between the atheists and theists extremely skewed. On one side you have the oxford-harvard educated grads who make there make their case vociferously and convincingly and on the other side you have sparsely educated godmen(!) who think they can get people to believe in god by telling them that they need to have "faith",somehow anyhow. Despite this a large number of people are theists maybe because they like the notion that there is a meaning to there lives or they find comfort in not being entirely responsible for things that happen to them .So there faith is more about a convenient concoction as opposed to a rational conviction. This leads to a very precarious situation. On side you have a convincing argument and on the other you have an unintelligent but a convenient one!The god men are fine with it as long as they have a following and they can hold on to it,even at the cost of intellectual defeat at the hands of the atheists. How else can you explain there low blows while taking questions about transubstantiation or the geocentric system.
Honestly I dont have anything against religion or the god men,I just believe that for a person driven by reason and curiosity atheism is the only conforming option.Almost all religions have faith as a corner stone which can merely be a euphemism for "believe all that i tell you(even if it's nonsense)".I hope there will be a day when religion guided by intellectuals will be compatible with skepticism!
